The power of Prayer

So this morning, my car started acting up with the heater. It wasn’t doing anything but seeming to blow out cold air. As we all knew this morning it was COLD. There was ice on our windshields and our windows as we went to get into our cars to go to work and or school this morning. It seemed that my defroster wasn’t working quiet as well as it normally does, but I just chalked it up to it being so darn cold. By the time we were half way to school, my engine was warmed up, thermostat showing right in the middle like it’s supposed to, but still all I am getting out of my vents is ice cold air, even when I recirculate it. It confused me, but since we were now running late because the defroster took 5 more minutes than it should have, I ignored it until after I dropped the kids off at school. I stopped at a friends house down the street from the school for coffee and company this morning before heading home to do my chores. I come across the realization that as long as I only had the front heat on that I could get anywhere from warm to hot air to come out. Then I realized that when I was inbetween lights I had hot air, and as soon as I stopped it began to cool down. I was almost home when I had this, for lack of a better way to put it, strong urg that I had to stop at the car shop on the way by (is our normal shop), and let them check it out and make sure.
Needless to say it’s a good thing that I did stop. Apparently my radiator was cracked and was really close to being completely dry. It was a good thing it was so cold this morning or I could’ve done much more damage to my engine, and it would have been much more costly repairs. That being said, we really don’t have the money to afford a +$435.00 repair. I found out the cost, dropped my head, processed what she said, said a prayer for help. Nothing specific, just help. In my mind was help in figuring out how to do this repair, help keeping my cool and not getting upset, and that we’ll figure out how to use one car until it’s fixed. After I told lady thank you, she went to go get my keys. I said goodbye to the kind lady I had talked to for the last 30 minutes, and wished her happy holidays on my way out the door.
Less than an hour after I got home, I received a phone call that astounded me. Brianne (the lady from the shop) was calling me. When I saw who it was I was very confused. After I answered, the lady from the shop told me that someone had paid for my car repairs. Granted she put it differently, but I didn’t think we needed verbatim here. Long and short of it is, someone who has remained nameless has paid for the repairs on our vehicle in full. No strings, no requirements. Needless to say, I cried a little, and I just said a prayer of thanks to God for everything He does for us. I honestly believe it was the nice lady that I was talking to while waiting for our cars to be done. Thank you God for answering our prayers for help when we needed it.  Whoever it was, thank you for your kindness and everything you have done for our family mystery person! I have written them a heart-felt thank you card, and the shop is going to make sure that you get the card for me!
This was just me sharing a moment of seeing God working through my life and feeling his love and comfort in my life.

And the cycle has not stopped....

So I have not picked up my blogging for those who care, even though I really should. Just so you know there are new pictures up on the picasa website from the kids birthdays and such. I am hoping my sister sends me the couple of pictures that she took while we were in San Diego together soon so that I can up load the couple of pictures that I got from Grandma Joan Bush's 80th birthday. She is 80 today, Happy Birthday Grandma! I loves you! My sister helped me be able to get down there for her birthday, which I am sincerely grateful for. She is doing really well, all things considered. She has put on some much needed weight, and is looking really good! Moving around as well as can be expected with her age, and hopes to be able to meet us for a day at Disneyland when we go next month.

Serena is now 3 years old. She is part of a group we call the terrible trio, LOL. My friend Tony's son Draco will be 3 in October, Jeanne's daughter Isabell who turned 3 today, and her are all mischief makers when they are together. Even if you put them in any arrangement of pairs, they somehow find trouble. Is always interesting. I got to amuse Grandma with some stories of the 3 of them together. The girls have been playing together since they were a few weeks old, and Draco started to when Tony and Missy moved back. But I digress. So she had her 3 year old check up last week. She is 97% for her height, and 50% for her weight (FINALLY!), so essentially is still a bean pole LOL. But she actually talked TO her doctor for the first time this visit. FINALLY. Has been a long time that she has just sat there and glared at her most of the time. Floored us both when she just looked at her and began to speak. It was awesome. Doctors response "Well she does speak well doesn't she?" LOL

Sky's now 5 years old. She has started Kindergarten this year. She's made friends with a little boy named Gavin, and I have made friends with his mother Katherine, and she has 2 daughters, one 3, and the other over 1. Just like me with my 3 just two years younger. Well needless to say, we all get along well, just waiting to introduce the husbands to see how that goes. Skylynn has been doing really well in school. She is now writing her name EVERYWHERE. And I mean everywhere, I am finding her name places writing shouldn't be... but we're working on that. She is still as inquisitive as ever, and just as cute as a button!

Sean is getting ready to turn 7 at the end of this month. His yearly check up isn't until October, so I won't know his stats until then. But he is enjoying his 2nd 3rd grade class quiet a bit. He seems to be excelling in all subjects. He is still a cutie patootie. He has once again cut his hair short, decided it was just too much being long!

That is all I have for tonight, but I hope you all have a wonderful work week after having September 5th off! Happy Birthday again Grandma! I love you all, adios.
